RÉSEAU ALLÉGÉ QUÉBEC HIRES GUY LALIBERTÉ AS CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER


VILLE DE SHAWINIGAN, CANADA, October 24, 2023 -- Lightening Grid Québec Inc. (LGQ, and d/b/a Réseau Allégé Québec) announced today that Guy Laliberté joined the energy storage and power solutions company as chief operating officer on October 18. Laliberté will oversee business operations and construction plans for LGQ’s advanced energy storage manufacturing and research facility located in the Ville de Shawinigan, Québec.

With 40 years of experience in mining and metallurgical project management, Laliberté is a seasoned leader and engineer. Having recently served as CEO of Sayona Québec, a lithium mining and concentrate producer, his previous roles include project director, construction manager, lead scheduler, and project control manager, and those functions in many countries in the world. His extensive expertise on major mining and industrial projects combines overseas project experience with having honed his leadership skills by owning and managing an engineering consultancy. His fluency in English and French complements his expertise in managing and planning construction and project activities.

Laliberté earned his Bachelor of Engineering and Construction Management and also a Bachelor of Civil Construction from the École de technologie supérieure. He resides in Ville de Shawinigan, Québec, Canada.


LGQ’s high-value products and services will serve critical energy, environmental, and security infrastructure needs in North America. The products are differentiated by their excellent performance, safety, competitive cost, and uniquely high capacity. The facility, part of LGQ’s Phase A plans in Shawinigan, will be approximately 50,000 square meters (almost 530,000 square feet) and is designed to manufacture battery packs, cells, and systems initially growing from two Gigawatt hours (GWh) to seven GWh of annual battery production capacity. The subsequent phase will grow cumulatively to over 1.5 million square feet and 20 GWh.
